Wayfinding and signage improvement
St John of God Murdoch Hospital has worked with wayfinding specialists, campus users and consumers to produce a new way of assisting patients and visitors to find their way onto and around the campus.
New Chapel and Foyer Refurbishment
Upgrading the Murdoch Foyer and construction of our new Chapel is about to commence, and will be managed in several stages to ensure our patients, visitors, caregivers, medical practitioners and other suppliers maintain access to the hospital. Key features:
To enable construction, between May and December 2015, access to various sections of the foyer area and main hospital entrance portico will be restricted. Diversions and signage will be in place to enable safe and easy access to various destinations around the hospital. We appreciate your patience and understanding as this final exciting part of our redevelopment gets underway, renewing and enhancing some key areas of the hospital and creating an even more welcoming environment for patients, visitors, caregivers and medical practitioners.
Ward refurbishment
As part of stage 2 of the Murdoch Redevelopment project, the six original 1994 wards located in the hospital’s North Wing are being refurbished. The general finish will mirror the style of the new South Wing wards, with minor alterations to general layouts. We will refurbish one ward at a time, with construction commencing in May 2015. Every step will be taken to avoid noise and vibration during the refurbishment, however as with all construction works some disturbances are possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding during the refurbishments, and we look forward to bringing our original wards up to the same stunning standard as our new South Wing wards. |
