Ward refurbishment
As part of stage 2 of the Murdoch Redevelopment project, the six original 1994 wards located in the hospital’s North Wing are being refurbished. The general finish will mirror the style of the new South Wing wards, with minor alterations to general layouts. We will refurbish one ward at a time, with construction commencing in May 2015.
Every step will be taken to avoid noise and vibration during the refurbishment, however as with all construction works some disturbances are possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding during the refurbishments, and we look forward to bringing our original wards up to the same stunning standard as our new South Wing wards.

Upgrading the Murdoch Foyer and construction of our new Chapel is about to commence, and will be managed in several stages to ensure our patients, visitors, caregivers, medical practitioners and other suppliers maintain access to the hospital.
Key features:

The first patient was direct transferred via helicopter from another WA hospital to the FSH Intensive Care Unit in April 2015.
While the helipad has been operational since February 2015, this is the first time that a patient was transferred directly from a regional hospital to FSH.
The patient was transferred from the South West Health Campus, highlighting the
extensive capability of the RAC Rescue Helicopter Retrieval Service in the South
West of Western Australia.
This is an example of the varied use of the helicopter retrieval service that is available to over 90% of Western Australians. The FSH helipad is strategically located above operating theatres, intensive care and the emergency department with special access via a priority lift to ensure patients receive treatment as quickly as possibleWhen you require Fresh Flowers for friends, family, loved one or work colleague that is a patient at St John of God Hosital in Murdoch, we have the perfect solution!

Recently the walls of the childrens ward at the Fiona Stanley Hospital has seen the artwork of award winning student artists from across the southern suburbs of Perth.
The artwork was entered into a competition at the end of last year, and winners were chosen by local primary school children at an event hosted at the hospital.
The winners art work has now been turned into wall paper and installed in the childrens ward to bring colour and happiness to the young patients at the Fiona Stanley Hospital.
Murdoch Florist is proud to be able to deliver and supply many child-orientated flowers, hampers and balloon arrangements to the children staying at the Fiona Stanley Hospital.
Orders can be placed online at www.murdochflorist.com.au or over the phone on 9227 0520
At Murdoch Florist we LOVE all the new flowers that Spring brings – freesias, daffodils, tulips and hyacinths are our favs. For that colour burst to happen in Spring though, NOW is the time to get into your garden and start planting.
For all you first timers out there – it’s very easy…Either pop them into pot, or if you are planting them in the garden, find a sunny spot with good drainage. The rule of thumb is to plant the bulbs in a sunny spot, at twice the height that they are and the same distance apart. Add a handful of compost for a nutrient boost -- that’s it!
Remember: there’s no such thing as too many spring bulbs. We love to mix them up in an array of colours and textures for added impact. Here is some pinspiration for ways to plant the flowers we love.
