Fiona Stanley Hospital Helipad Used in First Patient Transfer from a Regional Hospital - Murdoch Hospital Florist
The first patient was direct transferred via helicopter from another WA hospital to the FSH Intensive Care Unit in April 2015.
While the helipad has been operational since February 2015, this is the first time that a patient was transferred directly from a regional hospital to FSH.
The patient was transferred from the South West Health Campus, highlighting the
extensive capability of the RAC Rescue Helicopter Retrieval Service in the South
West of Western Australia.
This is an example of the varied use of the helicopter retrieval service that is available to over 90% of Western Australians.
